DCOT Study’s Questionnaire
A common questionnaire was designed for all participants. It consists of 101 questions gathering information on smoking, second-hand smoke exposure and perceived risk of this exposure, as well as information on general health, chronic diseases, lifestyles (alcohol consumption and physical activity), anthropometric measures (weight and height), and sociodemographics.
The questionnaire was available in Spanish and Catalan. The administration was face-to-face in the participant’s home. When a participant was unable to respond directly (such as children less than 8 years old or people with understanding problems) a relative was asked to answer the questions on behalf of him/her.
EuroSurvey Study’s Questionnaire
This questionnaire was developed in the context of a project funded by the European Union regarding evidence-based policy development and enforcement for the prevention of exposure to passive smoking in different countries. Its objective was gathering information on prevalence of smoking and second-hand smoke exposure. The Spanish version has 48 questions regarding smoking, second-hand smoke exposure, perceived risk of this exposure, general health, and sociodemographics.
The questionnaire was administered by telephone, and it was computer-assisted (Computer Assisted Telephone Interviewing, CATI).
