Prognostic markers and therapeutic response prediction
Prognostic markers and therapeutic response prediction
The series of cases with colorectal cancer who participate in the studies already described to identify diagnostic markers are well characterized from the clinical point of view, along with monitoring and collecting data prospectively. This allows the analysis of prognostic markers.
Participating in two studies in co-operation with biotechnology companies for such specific purpose. Agenda is a group dutchman who has developed a kit predictor of prognosis in breast cancer (MAMAPRINT) based on a profile of expression. We help in assisting the development and validation of a similar kit for colorectal cancer (COLOPRINT), which is being published. To test the clinical efficacy, we have designed a prospective trial coordinated by Dr.. Ramon Salazar. This study includes 300 cases in stages II and will be evaluated the predictive ability of COLOPRINT in prospective conditions.
The other co-operation with the consortium is ONCNOSIS, which was funded by the CENIT 2005 and we help providing cases and making bioinformatics analysis of microarray data and developing animal models for validation of the markers identified.
